Pricing in generative tools is usually the last thing you find out and the first thing you regret. HeyBop takes the opposite view: the cost is on the button, in credits, before you click it. This guide explains where those numbers come from so you can plan a release instead of discovering it.
The unit
A credit is worth roughly one US cent. Plans include a monthly allowance (Pro: 800; Premier: 3,000) that rolls over while you stay subscribed, and top-up packs never expire. New accounts start with zero credits. Uploads and setup are free; generation requires purchased credits. Ordinary credit-pack exports on Free accounts carry a watermark; paid subscriptions remove it. One eligible first-purchase starter includes one commercial-use final export up to 30 seconds without a watermark.
Video clips
A scene is one generated clip of six or ten seconds. Its price depends on the quality, length and whether you add a reference photo. The studio shows the exact cost before you generate.
- Lite: 40 credits per 6-second clip, 65 per 10-second clip.
- Standard (the default): 60 credits per 6-second clip, 100 per 10-second clip.
- Best: 90 credits per 6-second clip, 150 per 10-second clip.
- You in the shot, from a photo: 90 / 150 on Lite and Standard, 130 / 220 on Best.
So a 6-second clip on Standard is 60 credits (about 60 cents), the same clip is 40 on Lite and 90 on Best, and a 10-second clip with you in it on Best is 220. The studio shows this number next to every Generate and Regenerate button.
Choosing video quality
Standard balances quality and price. Lite gives you more video for your credits, while Best offers the most detail. With a reference photo, Lite and Standard have the same price and reference quality.
A whole music video
Two small pipeline fees frame the scenes: storyboarding (beat analysis, section detection and the Director AI's shot list) is 10 credits, and each final render (beat-snapped cut, audio mux, one aspect ratio) is 20 credits; 15-second hook teaser exports and draft previews reuse existing generated scenes at no extra render charge. Generating those source scenes is paid. Everything else is scenes.
total = 10 (storyboard) + clips × clipPrice(tier, length, you in it?) + 20 (render)
0:30 video, 6s clips, Standard → 10 + 5 × 60 + 20 = 330 credits ≈ $3.30 (buy credits before generation)
3:00 track, 6s clips, Lite → 10 + 30 × 40 + 20 = 1,230 credits ≈ $12.30
3:00 track, 6s clips, Standard → 10 + 30 × 60 + 20 = 1,830 credits ≈ $18.30
3:00 track, 6s clips, Best → 10 + 30 × 90 + 20 = 2,730 credits ≈ $27.30
3:00 track, 6s clips, Best, you in it → 10 + 30 × 130 + 20 = 3,930 credits ≈ $39.30Those are the most a video can cost: every slot a fresh shot. Songs repeat themselves, and HeyBop uses that. On songs of 75 seconds or more, when a chorus comes back the video replays the shots already made for it instead of generating new ones, for free — typically about 30% fewer generated clips. So a 3-minute video usually lands around 870 credits (≈ $9.98) on Lite, 1,290 (≈ $13.99) on Standard and 1,920 on Best, and never above the numbers in the formula. The studio shows the exact count once it has listened to your song, before you click.
The calculator on the pricing page runs this formula live. A common workflow: make the whole video on Standard, then switch the handful of shots you want to linger on to Best and regenerate only those. That typically adds 100–300 credits to the Standard price, with the money spent where viewers actually look. Choose Best for the most detailed shots; its price is shown separately.
Songs and voices
- A full song with vocals: 40 credits, whatever its length (it follows your lyrics).
- A cover (re-singing a reference you own): 50 credits.
- Voice-overs: 30 credits per 1,000 characters on Best, 20 on Standard, minimum 1 credit.
- Voice cloning from a sample: 400 credits, one time per voice. Voice Design (a new voice from a text description): 500 credits.
- Release kit: 20 credits per extra format (9:16, 16:9, 1:1, 4:5). A 15-second hook teaser export and draft preview reuse already generated scenes at no extra render charge; source scene generation requires purchased credits.
Reservations and refunds
When you start a job, its cost is reserved — it leaves your available balance so you cannot accidentally overspend — but it is only settled when the job succeeds. If the model errors, the job times out, or the output fails moderation, the reservation is released and the ledger shows a matching refund line. You never pay for a failure, and you never have to file a ticket to get the credits back.
Keeping a release under budget
- Analyse first. Storyboarding is 10 credits and tells you how many scenes the track needs before you commit to any of them.
- Start on Standard for a balance of quality and price. For a longer video on a tight budget, compare Lite before generating.
- Regenerate scenes, not videos. Fixing one shot costs one shot.
- Upgrade selectively. Switch to Best only where the camera lingers — the intro, the chorus drop, the final shot.
